The New Macey 60 Amp Restrained Back-to-Back Receptacle is designed to connect two extension cables together once the primary connection has been made at the switchboard. In underground mining applications, the distance from the switchboard to the cutting face can extend hundreds of metres, making it essential for operators to keep their trailing cable fleet mobile and adaptable as work progresses.

Since 2019, New Macey has transitioned this product to a fully modular design, allowing the unit to be easily cleaned, repaired, and maintained in the field. Manufactured from full stainless steel, the back-to-back receptacle is built to withstand extremely harsh environments while providing a reliable and practical solution for joining cables on site.

In addition to its modular stainless steel construction, a range of accessories is available to support different underground installation requirements. A wall mounting plate can be fitted to secure the back-to-back receptacle to machinery, fixed plant, or anchor points where cables are routed along the walls of the mine. This provides a controlled connection point, helping to reduce strain on trailing cables and maintain safe cable management practices in high-traffic areas.

For applications where cables are frequently repositioned along the ground, a skid plate option is available. This accessory is designed to allow the unit to slide or “skid” across rough surfaces while protecting the main body of the receptacle from impact and abrasion. Together, these accessory options allow operators to configure the back-to-back unit to suit the specific demands of their site, whether mounted, suspended, or mobile.
